1. Is the name you have now the same name that's on your birth certificate? If not, what's changed?
Hasn't changed yet. I would very much like it to. I suck at naming me. Stepmom offered to take me to get my name
changed when I was 15. I bought a bunch of baby name books...pored over them...still have the same name.
2. If you could change your name (first, middle and/or last), what would it be?
I'd like to take a name in marriage/commitment. Much as I know I needed to separate from ex-primary...DAMN but I
wanted that last name. I'll keep my middle, no matter what. It means pool below a waterfall, which I dig, and it's
also the same middle name that my big sister has, which I also dig.
3. Why were you named what you were? (Is there a story behind it? Who specifically was responsible for naming you?)
So, back in 1973 Atlanta, what they told you about your brand new spina bifida baby is that she'd be severely
retarded, she'd never walk and she'd be dead by age two. They told my mother to put me in an institution, or to
just leave me at the hospital and forget she had me. Story has it that when they finally fessed me up a few weeks
later, my mom only sort of finished the birth certificate. Apparently some nurse or doctor heard that my sister
wanted me to have her middle name, which I do, but didn't know what to do about a first name. I had been wrapped in
a terrycloth blanket. It stuck. My mother never changed it, and I never found out what she'd originally had in
mind, although I think it was something like Christine or Kristin, sort of twinnish to my sister's first name.
4. Are there any names you really hate or love? What are they and why?
I don't like "f" or "ch" noises too much...so Frenchie wouldn't be a favourite. *giggle* There are tons and tons
of names I love...fantastic, mythic sounding ones, and Gothic or Victorian sounding ones, and unique ethnic ones.
I also like formal-sounding men's names and surnames as first names for women
5. Is the analysis of your name at kabalarians.com / triggur.org / astroexpert accurate? How or how isn't it?
Kabalarians: The name of Terri creates an overly-sensitive nature which causes you to sense and feel far more than you can understand or put into words. You have a deep, artistic, and creative side which shows through a love for music and literature. Writing is a more natural mode of expression for your deeper thoughts and feelings than the spoken word. You have an ability to concentrate and work intently on anything which holds your interest. However, you prefer to avoid routine, monotony, and mental tasks. You enjoy the out-of-doors and find your greatest peace and relaxation from the beauty and harmony of nature. You prefer to limit your friendships and associations to those who share your interests and appreciate your quiet, refined ways. Others often find it difficult to understand you. Your feelings tend to build up within you and, if you cannot release them through a creative, constructive channel, you could suffer with frustration, moods, and much inner turmoil.
Ummm..sorta. I can agree with the overly-sensitive assesment. Ditto artistic. I think I do about the same with speaking and writing. Not so much the outdoorsgirl. Not so much...quiet. Agree with the frustration part, though. Interesting.
